SRASAC Wellbeing Service Everyone’s recovery journey from trauma looks different. SRASAC's Wellbeing Service is here to offer gentle, practical support while you’re waiting for counselling, or if you’re not in a place where counselling feels right just now. Our hope is simple: to make sure that waiting never has to mean doing it alone. Here you’ll find a selection of groups and activities that can help you feel a bit more grounded, connected with others, and supported while life is still happening around you. What is the Wellbeing Service? The Wellbeing Service sits alongside counselling at SRASAC. It gives you ways to: Connect with others in safe, low-pressure spaces Learn about trauma in simple, reassuring ways Make sense of what you’re experiencing Build small tools for day-to-day coping Feel supported and connected with other trauma survivors. It is not counselling and we will not ask you to share your story with others at any of our wellbeing sessions. It’s about helping you stay steady, supported, and not alone during the in-between times. View our Upcoming Wellbeing Events Who is it for? The Wellbeing service is in it's pilot year and is currently only available for clients who are: On the SRASAC counselling waiting listor Have had a counselling assessment and been recommended to access the wellbeing service. What We Offer: We offer a range of wellbeing supports which help people to learn about trauma, develop coping skills, and make connections with other survivors. You can dip in and out of the things that feel right. There’s no pressure to do everything or to follow a set path. Wellbeing Cafés (in-person) Monthly, gentle, themed Cafes in person at Scotia Works. These cafés mix simple information about coping, creative activities, grounding exercises, and a warm space to simply be around others who understand. Come and join us for a cuppa, there is never any pressure to share anything you're not comfortable with, or even to speak at all. Listening quietly is completely welcome. Workshops include include grounding practices, creative and hands-on activities, body-based and emotional wellbeing, reflective discussion spaces, and gentle opportunities to build connection, confidence and resilience. These are helpful if you prefer to learn quietly, do not want to be seen, or want clear, simple trauma information. You can take part via the chat or simply listen. Topics include trauma and the body, sleep and rest, intrusive thoughts and flashbacks, preparing for counselling, and grounding skills. They are more like a chance to talk about one thing that is hard right now and explore a few things that may help. To make it easier to use, we offer login help, reminders, and optional drop-in sessions for questions or reflections. This helps you use the course with some gentle support around you.
