Our Team and Values

"THANK YOU SO MUCH! I appreciate all your help and support, from the admin staff to the counsellors. I am grateful this charity exists. I don’t think I’d be alive if it wasn’t for SRASAC."

We are an all women team - so when you call or visit our Centre you will be with women all the way.  We work hard to provide a high quality, timely and inclusive service for all our clients.

All of our counsellors are fully qualified and have specialist experience of working with survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence.

All of our Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs) hold fully accredited qualification as ISVAs.

"THANK YOU! The service is invaluable. The ethos and principles are liberating and empowering. Wonderful work."

Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (SRASAC) is a feminist organisation, and everything we do is underpinned by our ethos and values.  We understand that people’s social identities can overlap, creating compounding experiences of discrimination.  This can include discrimination due to racism, class, poverty, gender identity (including trans people), gender non conformism, disability, sexuality or immigrant status.

We:

  • Believe.
  • Seek to enable all people to become empowered to live the lives they want to lead.
  • Believe that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.
  • Value and celebrate the diversity of our clients. We strive to be an inclusive service and support people of all identities.  We recognise the combination of different natures of oppression.
  • Are determined to stop rape and sexual violence
  • Speak out against and challenge the myths and stereotypes that perpetuate sexual violence
  • Believe that perpetrators choose to rape, and that it can be prevented

"This is a fantastic service that you provide here. It has helped me in so many ways, not just confronting the abuse but so many other things. I am truly thankful for the guys at SRASAC."

    FemSoc Charity Night

University of Sheffield's Feminist Society is fundraising for SRASAC because it is such an important cause, one close to our hearts and aims at FemSoc. Consent has been one of our main focuses this year so it feels very important for us to fundraise for something we're passionate about and give back to a charity helping so many, especially students at Sheffield Unis.
